Privacy Policy

This privacy policy or information about the processing and protection of users’ personal data aims to describe the management methods employed when this website is being used, with reference to the use and processing of users’/visitors’ personal data. The reader is referred to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (the General Data Protection Regulation).

www.geomatic.lv is owned by GEOMATIC, SIA (Reg. No. 40103594297; registered address: Duntes iela 10, Riga, LV-1013).

Navigation data and the retention thereof In the normal operation of the server/client computer system, some personal data is obtained that is indirectly transmitted using internet communications protocols. This is information that is collected anonymously and is not connected to identified stakeholders; however, by its nature, when processed with data held by third parties, it would permit the identification of users/visitors (for example, IP addresses, computers used by users who connect to the website, domains, code indicating the response status provided by the server, browser type, time stamps for the start and end of the browsing session, and identification of activities).

This data is used only for statistical information and for ensuring that the website functions properly. In the absence of further investigation or specific regulatory obligations, this data is stored for no more than twelve months. Data from the website is not distributed or exported.

Cookie Policy Cookies are small files that, when a website is used, are downloaded into the user’s device when content from the website in question is downloaded. Cookies collect information about the use of the website, including information from standard log entries (connection IP address, connection time, duration of connection) and information about actions taken on the website. Types of cookies:

  • One group of cookies are the functionally and technically necessary cookies, without which the full functioning of the website would not be possible because internet websites operate in such a way that they do not maintain session statuses – i.e., websites do not have their own memory, so that, for example, if a user browses different sections of a website, he or she is not recognised as the same user. Cookies make it possible for the website to recognise the user. The main function of cookies is thus to permit the web server to receive information about the user session, language used, currency, etc., and to ensure the full functioning of the website. This type of cookies also includes cookies that ensure that your choice to accept or opt out of analytical cookies is retained, so that your past selection is already known to the site without your being prompted to accept cookies each time.
  • The second group of cookies are analytical cookies that are necessary to help analyse the use of the website. For example, for the purpose of understanding the activities of visitors to a website and thus enabling improvements and the creation of a more user-friendly site, use is made of the service provided by the Google Analytics tool, which analyses the behaviour of website visitors, and the use of which is in the legitimate interest of the controller towards the aim of persisting, developing, and carrying out economic activities in the context of the information society. At the same time, one has the right to opt out of the deployment of analytical cookies, leaving only the functional cookies without which website functioning is impossible.

The controller uses the technically necessary cookies on his or her website which are installed automatically on the website visitor’s device. The underlying legal basis is the legitimate interest of the controller in ensuring the functioning of the website. A visitor to a site can delete cookies on his or her device at any time. In such a case, however, the cookies required for the website’s functioning will be reinstalled when the visitor visits the website again or continues his or her session.

Data provided voluntarily by users/visitors If users/visitors submit requests via e-mail forms when browsing this website, GEOMATIC SIA will obtain the sender’s address and/or other personal data, which will in turn only be processed for the purpose of responding to the request. This data will not be exported or distributed.

Processing methods Processing is carried out using IT and telematic tools and/or manually (e.g. on paper), for as long as is necessary to achieve the objectives for which the data was collected, and in any case in accordance with the rules in force in the field concerned.

Optional delivery of data Apart from navigation data, users/visitors are free to provide their personal data. Failure to provide it can only make it impossible to obtain the requested service.

Owner and categories of persons authorised to process data Your personal data controller is the Limited Liability Company GEOMATIC SIA, with the registered address of Duntes iela 10, Riga, LV-1013.

Rights of stakeholders A user/visitor has the right to access and use data pertaining to him/her at any time (for example, he or she may request the origin of the data, may correct inaccurate or incomplete data, may restrict or cancel processing, may make use of data portability, and may object to the use thereof for legitimate reasons), by contacting the data controller at geomatic@geomatic.lv and indicating the content of his or her request.
