Topographic works

A topographic plan is a detailed cartographic representation of a plot of land, including precise information on the terrain of the area, the locations of properties, and other significant elements. Such a plan is an important document in design and construction.

The preparation of a topographic plan requires the services of professional geodesists/surveyors who use specialised equipment and software to obtain accurate and detailed data on the surface of the land and its properties.

Why choose GEOMATIC services for the preparation of a topographic plan?

  • We measure each topographical area from scratch, without using historical data (previously performed topographical jobs). In this way, we are able to provide the most up-to-date reflection of the situation in the topographic plan.
  • We have carried out the surveying of more than 350 topographic plans in Riga and the rest of Latvia.
  • 12 years of experience in successfully coordinating topographic plans with data holders of HDTI (highly detailed topographic information) and city construction boards.
  • We use the latest generation of robotic surveying tools, Trimble, GPS technologies, and LIDAR (remote measurement technology) systems to survey topographies.

When is preparation of a topographic plan necessary?

  • Design and construction: Before starting any type of construction work, such as the building of a house, road, bridge or other infrastructure. A topographic plan helps designers understand the terrain and existing structures of a site, so that an appropriate construction design can be developed.
  • Design of engineering utilities: this is an integral part of the design and installation of water supply, sewerage, electricity supply, gas, telecommunications and other engineering utilities.
  • Planning and development projects: Planning and development of urban and rural areas, such as new residential districts, commercial areas, or industrial areas.
  • Landscape architecture: Planning and designing of parks, gardens, sports grounds and other landscape elements.

How to determine the price of topography?

The price of topography services depends on the following factors:

  • location of the site – the price of topography within Riga may be higher than near Riga, as there are more holders of utilities, and coordination with them is necessary.
  • volume of the area – the size of the area to be measured.
  • density of building and engineering utilities – the more engineering utilities and buildings are located on the site, the more time-consuming the surveying will be.
  • deadlines for the implementation of the plan – if the site is not complex and is located outside the administrative borders of the City of Riga, the overall process of development of a topographic plan takes approximately 1.5 months. In Riga, coordination of topographic plans may take 2 months or more.

Contact GEOMATIC and we will be able to provide quick replies regarding the preparation and costs of the topographic plan. We will need the cadastral number of the property in order to determine, as accurately as possible, the costs of preparation of a topographic plan.
